💡 Tips for applicants
- Begin building relationships with NINDS and NeuroNEXT leadership now. Personal connections strengthen site selection and collaboration discussions.
- Document your institution's neurological research infrastructure and clinical trial experience. Highlight past successful trials and patient populations served.
- Ensure your institution has strong institutional review board (IRB) capacity and regulatory compliance expertise. Clinical trial sites require robust oversight systems.
- Develop a clear statement of how your site would contribute uniquely to the NeuroNEXT network. Emphasize geographic reach, patient population access, or specialized neurological expertise.
- Monitor NINDS announcements closely for when formal applications open. Subscribe to NIH funding alerts and communicate proactively with program officials.
⚠️ Common mistakes
Underestimating the infrastructure and regulatory compliance requirements for clinical trial sites. NeuroNEXT sites must maintain high standards for patient safety and data quality.
Failing to demonstrate genuine collaborative capacity and commitment to network science. Applicants selected as sites must actively participate in coordinated research activities and share data within the network.
Applying without prior engagement with NINDS or NeuroNEXT leadership. Establishing relationships and understanding program priorities before application strengthens competitiveness.
