Program Objective
To maintain and enhance an online platform offering user-friendly access to the data for students, institutions, industry, Federal agencies, and the public at large; to facilitate outreach and dissemination of information on both the Food and Agricultural Education Information System (FAEIS) itself, and outcomes from FAEIS data to the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture, contributors of the data, and other users of data.

1. U.S. public or private nonprofit colleges and universities offering a baccalaureate or first professional degree in at least one discipline or area of the food and agricultural sciences;
2. land-grant colleges and universities;
3. colleges and universities having a demonstrable capacity to develop and maintain a comprehensive database for the food and agricultural sciences.
How to Apply
Award Procedure
The National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) only accepts electronic applications submitted via Grants.gov; no other method or response is accepted. Applicants must apply to the specific Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) on Grants.gov. The electronic application package for the NOFO and additional resources, including the NIFA Grants Application Guide, are available on Grants.gov.
NIFA will evaluate applications using the evaluation criteria described in the Notice of Funding Opportunity.
In general, NIFA evaluates applications using a two-part process. First, NIFA screens each application to ensure that it meets the administrative requirements set forth in the Notice of Funding Opportunity. All administrative requirements must be met in order for the application to proceed to the next level of review. Second, a scientific peer-review process is used to technically evaluate applications that have met the administrative requirements using a review panel.

Description
The Food and Agricultural Education Information System (FAEIS) compiles nationwide higher education data for the life, food, veterinary, human, natural resource, and agricultural sciences through an annual online survey. These data include student enrollment, graduation, and job placement as well as faculty data including salaries. The data is disaggregated by degree program and level, sex, and ethnicity.

Use of Funds
Allowed Uses
Grant funds must be used for allowable costs necessary to support and maintain the FAEIS.
Restrictions
All funds granted by NIFA may be used only for the purpose for which they are granted in accordance with the approved application and budget, regulations, terms and conditions of the award, applicable federal cost principles, USDA assistance regulations, and NIFA General Awards Administration Provisions, 7 CFR Part 3430, subparts A through E.
Required Documentation
Applicants (unless excepted under 2 CFR § 25.110(b) or (c), or has an exception approved by the Federal awarding agency under 2 CFR § 25.110(d)) must (1): Have an active SAM registration prior to applying; (2) Provide a valid Unique Entity Identifier number in its application; and (3) Continue to maintain an active SAM registration with current information at all times during which it has an application under consideration or an active federal award. Applicants must furnish the information required in the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). Successful applicants recommended for funding must furnish the information and assurances requested during the award documentation process.
