💡 Tips for applicants

  • Review your county's allocation in the AAAL 27AP2 document first to understand your funding ceiling and cost-share requirements.
  • Document how your program serves vulnerable older adults and impacts nutrition security in your community.
  • Include detailed meal menus, staffing plans, and participant enrollment projections in your application.
  • Ensure your cost-share amount is clearly identified and committed before submitting; verify you can meet the requirement.
  • Coordinate with your local Area Agency on Aging early to align nutrition goals and avoid duplication with existing programs.

⚠️ Common mistakes

Failing to use the correct regional allocation from AAAL 27AP2 or exceeding it. Not documenting how cost sharing will be provided and sustained. Proposing meal frequency less than five days per week or meal types that don't meet program standards.
