💡 Tips for applicants
- Confirm Oklahoma state authorization before investing application effort. Contact ACL or your state agency to verify your organization's eligibility to establish a CIL.
- Emphasize your organization's track record serving people with disabilities and commitment to all five core services.
- Detail your transition services plan, as institutional transition is a key program focus.
- Build strong partnerships with local institutions, nursing homes, and youth services to demonstrate capacity for transitions.
- Show how your center will integrate with and strengthen Oklahoma's existing CIL network.
⚠️ Common mistakes
Applications fail when organizations lack state authorization to operate a CIL or unclear capacity to deliver all five core services. Weak institutional transition plans undermine competitiveness. Failure to demonstrate genuine community need and network integration support costs the application.
