What activities are funded under this grant?
Funding covers facility construction and retrofits, campus amenities, pre-development work (design, engineering, planning), community resilience services, and programs that operate at the facility year-round.
Are there any partnership requirements?
Yes, you need at least two partners. If your lead organization isn't a CBO, one partner must be. All partners must sign a Collaborative Governance Worksheet and provide letters of commitment.
Is technical assistance available?
Yes. Tribal applicants are prioritized for application TA. Other eligible applicants may receive TA on a case-by-case basis. Submit the Application TA Request Form by July 31, 2026.
What is the funding range?
Individual grants range from $1 million to $10 million. The total funding pool is $52 million across the round.
💡 Tips for applicants
- Secure partnerships early. Lock in your CBO partner and second partner before drafting your application to ensure strong collaboration letters.
- Emphasize climate and disaster resilience in your proposal. Show how your facility and programs directly strengthen community readiness for climate impacts.
- Include detailed governance structure. The Collaborative Governance Worksheet is required, so clarify decision-making, roles, and communication among all partners upfront.
- Build in community engagement. Demonstrate meaningful community input during pre-development and planning phases, not just in final construction plans.
- Request technical assistance if eligible. Tribal applicants should definitely apply; other organizations can request TA by July 31, 2026 to strengthen your proposal.
⚠️ Common mistakes
Applications fail when partnership requirements are unclear or incomplete—ensure all partners sign agreements and commit in writing. Proposals lack sufficient detail on how the facility builds community resilience; connect every activity to climate adaptation or disaster preparedness. Governance structures are vague or unbalanced among partners; clarify decision-making authority and community involvement upfront.
