💡 Tips for applicants

  • Secure your official BJA invitation letter before beginning the application. Ineligible applicants cannot submit.
  • Focus your proposal on concrete operational and system changes for correctional institutions. Vague plans will not be competitive.
  • Emphasize health and justice outcomes for reentering individuals. Align all activities with improved community reintegration.
  • Demonstrate partnerships with correctional facilities and reentry service providers. Collaboration strengthens competitiveness.
  • Budget for technical training delivery and resource development. Document how costs directly support institutional capacity building.

⚠️ Common mistakes

Applicants without an official invitation letter waste effort applying. Only invited organizations are eligible.

Proposals lacking specific operational changes or measurable outcomes for reentry services are rejected. Vague goals don't demonstrate impact.

Failure to show partnerships with correctional institutions or reentry providers weakens competitiveness. Isolation from stakeholders is a major weakness.
