Program Objective
To assist nonprofit, non-government, professional organizations, through a financial assistance award, in improving the Nation’s emergency preparedness, response and recovery posture to radiological and nuclear events and to encourage State and local government participation in informing domestic and international policies, regulations, contingency planning, training and capacity-building.

Description
The Nuclear Counterterrorism and Incident Response Program is a federally assisted program operating in nonprofit, non-government, professional organizations, whose membership is comprised of radiation professionals in State and local government that regulate the use of radiation sources. Participating organizations receive funding to inform domestic and international policies, regulations, contingency planning, training, and capacity-building.
Use of Funds
Allowed Uses
Financial support, in whole or in part, may be provided for administrative salaries, travel, and services required for conducting activities strengthening national and international counterterrorism, counterproliferation, and incident response capabilities.
