Examples of what this program has supported.

FY2025 The program delivered technical and financial assistance to State Foresters, nonprofit organizations, tribal governments, and educational institutions to advance fire prevention initiatives. It supported the development and deployment of enhanced technologies for fire prevention, suppression, control, and prescribed burning. Additionally, the program facilitated the establishment of shared suppression resources to improve cross-jurisdictional fire protection efficiency. It strengthened organizational capacity for rural firefighting forces, enhancing both preventive measures and emergency readiness. Finally, it advanced fire mitigation and protection through comprehensive planning and community outreach, ensuring alignment between state and local response strategies.

Program Objective
