Program Objective

The Biofuel Producer Program will make payments to eligible biofuel producers for unexpected market losses because of COVID-19.

How to Apply

Award Procedure

Applications will be reviewed for: completeness; applicant/producer eligibility; and qualifying market loss. Payments will be calculated based on the number of applicants/producers who apply and the associated qualifying market loss.

Decision Timeline

  • Approval: From 60 to 90 days
  • Appeal: From 15 to 30 days

The Biofuel Producer Program will make payments to eligible biofuel producers for unexpected market losses as a result of COVID-19. Payment to biofuel producers will be based on the volume of market loss the biofuel producer experienced in calendar year 2020.

There are no restrictions on how the funds may be used. Payments will be calculated based on biofuel producers who experienced market loss in 2020 as a result of COVID-19, either with decreased production or producers who produced at a gross profit loss.
