Program Objective

The Telehealth Resource Centers Program provides expert and customizable telehealth technical assistance across the country. The Telehealth Resource Centers provide training and support, disseminate information and research findings, promote effective collaboration, and foster the use of telehealth technologies to provide health care information and education for providers who serve rural and medically underserved areas and populations.

Telehealth Resource Centers Program: Eligible applicants include public, private non-profit and for-profit entities. Faith-based and community-based organizations, Tribes, and tribal organizations are eligible to apply.

How to Apply

Award Procedure

All final funding decisions are made by an independent review panel that is conducted by the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Division of Independent Review. Notification is made in writing by a Notice of Award.

Use of Funds

Allowed Uses

All funds awarded should be expended solely for carrying out approved projects in accordance with the intent of the grant or cooperative agreement as stipulated in the notice of award. Overall, not more than 20 percent of program funds may be expended for equipment, and not more than 15 percent of program funds may be expended for indirect costs. Program funds may not be used for purchasing and installing telecommunications transmission equipment (e.g., microwave towers, satellite dishes, amplifiers, digital switching equipment or laying cable or telephone lines) or to acquire real property. Construction costs are allowable only for minor renovations related to the installation of equipment.
