Program Objective

ECAP will issue a 1-time economic assistance payment to eligible producers of an eligible commodity for the 2024 crop year if the Secretary determines that the expected gross return per acre for the eligible commodity is less than the expected cost of production per acre for that eligible commodity.

  • Small Business Person
  • Land/Property Owner
  • Veteran (including dependents)

Any producer who has eligible economic losses for the 2024 crop year and report their interest in the covered commodity.

Description

ECAP will issue a 1-time economic assistance payment to eligible producers of an eligible covered commodity for the 2024 crop year to cope with increased costs and falling commodity prices, allowing producers to pay down debt relative to the 2024 crop and obtain financing for the 2025 crop year.
