Program Objective

ORWH will identify projects on women's health that should be conducted or supported by national research institutes; identify multi-disciplinary research related to research on women 's health that should be conducted or supported; and promote coordination and collaboration among entities conducting research.

Awards can be made to domestic, public or private, non-profit or profit organization, university, hospital, laboratory, or other institution including state and local units of government and individuals. Some initiatives will accept applications from foreign organizations. Additional details on eligibility will be specified in the funding opportunity announcement.

How to Apply

Award Procedure

Applications are reviewed by a peer review group for scientific and technical merit. NIH ICOs submit competitive applications to NIH / OD / DPCPSI /ORWH for potential co-funding by ORWH. ORWH staff perform an administrative review of ICO-submitted applications to for program relevance to the ORWH mission and program priorities. The Director, ORWH makes decisions to co-fund a select set of applications with the awarding ICO. Awards are made based on the availability of funds and the relevance of the proposed project to both ORWH and ICO program priorities. Co-funding dollars are provided to the ICO administering the award using a Direct CAN Citation, CAN transfer, or Inter Agency Agreement, to be applied to the grant award.
