The Migration and Refugee Assistance (MRA) Account designates primary UN or IO recipient organizations. NGO or other private sector activities must be complementary to, and coordinated with, UN programs.

How to Apply
Award Procedure
The Assistant Secretary of the Bureau makes funding decisions based on recommendations from the Bureau's Office of International Migration and Repatriation and other Bureau offices. A warranted grants officer signs the award/agreement.

Description
The Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) advances U.S. interests by providing life-sustaining humanitarian assistance to forcibly displaced people worldwide, working with multilateral organizations and NGOs to reduce illegal immigration and human smuggling. Through its Office of International Migration and Repatriation (IMR), PRM addresses the humanitarian needs of displaced and stateless persons and their host communities and promotes durable solutions—including voluntary return, local (re)integration, and resettlement—via coordinated foreign assistance programs and strategic diplomacy with governments and stakeholders.
