Use of Funds
Allowed Uses
Economic Development, Law, Justice, and Legal Services, Civil Defense/Disaster Prevention and Relief/Emergency Preparedness.Funding to support the three organizational pillars of the Organization of American States. All funds are Congressionally earmarked: For FY2020, within the total provided under this heading, $5,000,000 is for programs to promote and protect human rights, of which not less than $500,000 is for the Office of the Special Rapporteur for Freedom of Expression. For FY 2021, $5,000,000 is for programs to promote and protect human rights, of which not less than of which not less than $500,000 is for the Office of the Special Rapporteur for Freedom of Expression.
Required Documentation
Only the Organization of American States may apply. All grant application approvals and submissions must be done in coordination with the OAS Secretariat of Administration and Finance (SAF).
