Program Objective
To increase culturally specific intervention, advocacy, accompaniment, support services, and related assistance for adult, youth, and child victims of sexual assault; family and household members of such victims; and those collaterally affected by the victimization, except for the perpetrator of such victimization.
Eligibility
Eligible Applicants
- Private nonprofits
Eligible entities for this program are private nonprofit organizations for which the primary purpose of the organization as a whole is to provide culturally specific services to one or more of the following racial and ethnic communities:
American Indians (including Alaska Natives, Eskimos, and Aleuts); Asian Americans; Native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders; Blacks; and Hispanics.

Beneficiaries are adult, youth, and child victims of sexual assault, family and household members of such victims, and those collaterally affected by the victimization, except the perpetrator.
How to Apply
Application Procedure
Applicants must apply through the on-line Grants.gov portal and the Department of Justice's JustGrants System.
Award Procedure
Upon approval by the Office on Violence Against Women, online notification is sent to the applicant agency. The Authorized Representative must accept the award online.
Applicants will be notified by the end of the fiscal year.

Use of Funds
Allowed Uses
Funds are for culturally specific intervention and related assistance to victims of sexual assault, including: (i) 24-hour hotline services providing crisis intervention services and referral; (ii) accompaniment and advocacy through medical, criminal justice, and social support systems, including medical facilities, police, and court proceedings; (iii) crisis intervention, short-term individual and group support services, direct payments, and comprehensive service coordination and supervision to assist sexual assault victims and family or household members; (iv) information and referral to assist the sexual assault victim and family or household members; (v) community-based, linguistically and culturally specific services and support mechanisms, including outreach activities for underserved communities; and (vi) the development and distribution of materials on issues related to the services described in clauses (i) through (v).
Required Documentation
Non-profit organizations must be an organization that is described in section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 and is exempt from taxation under section 501(a) of that Code. All such applicants are required to submit a determination letter from the Internal Revenue Service recognizing their tax-exempt status.
