💡 Tips for applicants
- Verify your agency is not a current Cohort 4 grantee unless you're proposing a new Proposition 36 treatment program. If you are, contact BSCC for clarification before applying.
- Plan your community-based organization partnerships early. You must commit at least 50% of the grant award to subcontracted partners.
- Demonstrate how you'll leverage other federal, state, or local funding sources. The state prioritizes applications showing financial sustainability and partnerships.
- Use the Submittable portal to submit by the June 23, 2025 deadline. Late submissions will not be accepted.
- Focus your proposal on one or more eligible activities: mental health services, substance use treatment, or diversion programs. Stay within your funding category limits (Small or Large Scope).
⚠️ Common mistakes
Failing to secure community-based organization subcontracts for at least 50% of the award before applying. Not demonstrating how the project leverages other federal, state, or local funding sources.
