2025-26 California State Nonprofit Security Grant Program (CSNSGP) RFP
Can you apply?
This grant is for doctoral students conducting precision medicine research in California. Applicants must be current PhD, DrPH, MD-PhD, or other doctoral-level students at nonprofit California academic research institutions and in good academic standing. Research projects must center underrepresented populations historically excluded from biomedical research, incorporate precision medicine approaches to reduce health disparities, and take place in California. Projects cannot lead independent clinical trials but can involve research experience within mentor-led trials.
Program description
Restricted to California nonprofit organizations that are described under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (IRC) and exempt from tax under Section 501(a) of such code. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) does not require certain organizations such as churches, mosques, and synagogues to apply for and receive recognition of exemption under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRC. Such organizations are automatically exempt if they meet the requirements of Section 501(c)(3).
