💡 Tips for applicants

  • Check the CSFA website regularly for annual funding announcements. Deadlines vary by year.
  • Prepare clear documentation of student enrollment eligible for free or reduced-price meals.
  • Focus your narrative on facility maintenance and operational costs, not capital improvements.
  • Include detailed budget justification for all requested facility expenses.
  • Apply early in the announced window—rolling funding may deplete quickly.

⚠️ Common mistakes

Requesting capital or construction costs instead of ongoing operational expenses. Incomplete enrollment data or inability to verify free/reduced-price meal eligibility. Missing the announced application window due to lack of CSFA website monitoring.
