💡 Tips for applicants

  • Include a confirmed American partner (person, organization, or institution) in your proposal. Embassy reviewers prioritize genuine bilateral collaboration.
  • Map your program directly to one or more of the six priority goals. Use exact language from the announcement when describing your alignment.
  • Show clear understanding of your target audience and how the American element will enhance their experience. Vague connections to U.S. institutions will weaken competitiveness.
  • Budget conservatively and justify every expense. With only $25,000 total, modest efficient programs are more likely to win than expensive ones.
  • Include a simple evaluation plan. Show how you'll measure whether participants gained understanding of U.S. policies or perspectives.

⚠️ Common mistakes

Failing to include a genuine American partner or expert connection. Weak link between program activities and the stated American element.
