💡 Tips for applicants
- Demonstrate clear experience with geospatial technologies and DOD project requirements. Federal reviewers prioritize proven technical track records.
- Highlight any prior work on Air Force installations or military environmental projects. Established relationships with AFCEC strengthen competitiveness.
- Build a detailed project timeline tied to specific Air Force installation needs. Vague proposals are common rejections.
- Address how your mapping data integrates with existing Air Force systems. Interoperability with DOD infrastructure is critical.
- Secure letters of support from relevant Air Force installations or AFCEC offices early. Third-party validation significantly strengthens applications.
⚠️ Common mistakes
Applications lack specific DOD project experience or fail to demonstrate geospatial technical capacity. Proposals don't clearly explain how mapping outputs integrate with Air Force operations. Budgets are unrealistic for the scope of multi-region installation mapping projects.
