This grant is for healthcare professionals pursuing advanced degrees or certifications in California. Applicants must be currently accepted or enrolled in an approved California Board or Committee program such as Nurse-Midwifery, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Dentistry, Nursing Practice, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, or Speech Therapy programs.
Selection emphasizes work experience, financial need, career goals, community service, and academic performance. Priority goes to applicants from medically underserved communities who demonstrate commitment to long-term practice in those areas.
Recipients must commit to a two-year service obligation providing direct patient care at a qualified facility in California. This scholarship is limited to California-based programs and facilities.

Priority is given to applicants whose community background and commitment indicate the likelihood of long-term employment in a medically underserved area even after the service obligation has ended. Recipients agree to a two-year service obligation practicing direct patient care at a qualified facility in California. Applicants must be currently accepted or enrolled in the following California Board or Committee approved program: Certified Nurse-Midwives Clinical Nurse Specialists Dentists Nurse Practitioners Occupational Therapists Pharmacists Physical Therapists Physician Assistants Speech Therapists.
