Letter of Intent (LOI)

← Grant Glossary

A Letter of Intent (sometimes “letter of inquiry”) is a short note submitted before a full application, telling the funder you plan to apply and briefly describing your project. Some programs require it; funders use it to gauge interest and invite full proposals. It is usually one to three pages.
