Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System
Program Funding

Program Objective
The purpose of this program is to provide assistance to State and Territorial Health Departments to maintain and expand:
1) Specific health surveillance on the behaviors of the general adult population that contribute to the occurrences and prevention of chronic diseases, injuries, and other public health threats through the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), and
2) Collection, analysis, and dissemination of BRFSS data to State and Territorial Health Department
categorical programs for their use in assessing trends, directing program planning, evaluating program priorities, developing policy, and targeting relevant population groups.

After review and approval, a Notice of Award (NoA) will be prepared and processed, along with appropriate notification to the public.
