To provide funds to conduct research and development on innovative transportation systems and related applied technologies.

Assistance was used for innovative technology based projects directed towards application on national transportation infrastructure development and construction in planning, design and operations.

Required Documentation

There is no new funding at this time. The past process consisted of proposals with statement of work and estimated budget. Costs were determined in accordance with relevant OMB circulars (i.e. Circular Nos. A-87 for State and Local Governments, A-21 for Educational Institutions and A-122 for Non-Profit and For-Profit Organizations).

Matching Requirements

Fifty (50) percent non-Federal matching requirements was per SAFETEA-LU legislation language.
