Program Objective

The U.S. Government (USG) is providing resources to support U.S. foreign policy goals by promoting diplomatic solutions and strengthening the relationship between the people and government of the United States and citizens of the rest of the world through targeted public diplomacy programming, such as English language instruction, critical skills development and other educational and cultural programs.

These resources support the people, platforms, and programs necessary to meet the international challenges to American national security and welfare. Targeted educational and cultural engagement with foreign governments and foreign publics to promote mutual understanding between nations and develop future leaders, creates opportunities for further cooperation and strengthens bilateral and multilateral partnerships favorable to U.S. national security objectives.
