Description
The PML Grant Program supports research and collaborative activities that advance measurement science and standards across a wide range of physical and quantum disciplines. The goal of the program is to develop, improve, and apply precise measurement methods, reference standards, and instrumentation that enable scientific discovery, support emerging technologies, and address national needs in industry, commerce, health, energy, and security.
The program funds work in areas such as mechanical and electrical metrology, nanotechnology and semiconductors, quantum measurement and quantum information science, time and frequency standards, optical and photonic technologies, radiation physics and dosimetry, sensor science, nanoscale device characterization, and weights and measures. Funding may also support education, outreach, conferences, and technical workshops that are directly relevant to measurement science and standards.
