Program Objective
Provide financial assistance to facilities that purchase and process byproducts from ecosystem restoration projects for wood products infrastructure.

Funding priority will be to provide financial assistance to an entity seeking to establish, reopen, retrofit, expand, or improve a sawmill or other wood-processing facility that will utilize the byproducts of projects on federal land, Indian land and rangeland, that have been identified as high or very high priority for ecological restoration.
For-profit entities, state, local governments; Indian Tribes, school districts, community, not-for-profit organizations, institutions of higher education, and special purpose districts (e.g., public utilities districts, fire districts, conservation districts, and ports).

Description
The program goal is to provide financial assistance to facilities that purchase and process byproducts from ecosystem restoration projects with the goal to substantially decrease the cost of conducting ecological restoration projects involving vegetation removal on Federal land, including Indian forest land or rangeland.
Financial assistance can be provided to a facility seeking to establish, reopen, retrofit, expand, or improve a sawmill or other wood-processing facility near unit of Federal land that has been identified as high or very high priority for ecological restoration.

Assistance can be used to establish, reopen, retrofit, expand, or improve a sawmill or other wood-processing facility that will utilize the byproducts of projects on federal land, or support other programs to increase the use of byproducts from restoration. Matching Requirements
Required match will vary by award but may be no less than 25% of the federal amount.
