Program Objective
STRP provides payments to eligible commercial fishermen of seafood commodities that have been identified as having been impacted by trade actions of foreign governments resulting in the loss of exports. Payments are for the purpose of expanding or aiding in the expansion of domestic markets for U.S. caught and sold seafood.
Eligibility
Eligible Applicants
- Unrestricted by Individual Type
- Unrestricted by Entity Type
U.S. commercial fisherman who hold a valid federal or state license or permit to commercially catch seafood, and such marine species are brought to shore and sold or transferred to another party that must be a legally permitted or licensed seafood dealer.
How to Apply
Award Procedure
STRP payments will be issued on the commercial fisherman’s total reported commercial landings of eligible seafood species caught and sold from January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2019. STRP payments are capped per person or legal entity at $250,000.
