Program Objective

Grants can be made to intermediaries to facilitate financing to qualified ultimate recipients. Eligible ultimate recipient projects involve the start-up or expansion of meat and poultry processors to increase processing capacity and help create a more resilient, diverse, and secure U.S. food supply chain.

Eligibility

Eligible Applicants

  • Federally Recognized Tribal Government
  • For-Profit Organization
  • Small Business Person

An Eligible Intermediary must be domiciled in a state and be one of the following entity types: 1) private nonprofit corporation, 2) public agency, 3) Indian Tribe or Tribal Entity, or 4) a cooperative.

Beneficiaries

  • Other

An ultimate recipient must be a legal entity in a State organized as a cooperative organization, corporation, partnership, or other legal entity organized and operated on a for-profit or nonprofit basis; an Indian Tribe or Tribal Entity; a public body; or an individual. Additional requirements listed in the Notice.

How to Apply

Award Procedure

Intermediaries who are selected for funding will receive a signed letter of conditions containing requirements necessary to proceed with execution of the award. If the letter of conditions is accepted the Agency will proceed with approving an award.

Decision Timeline

  • Approval: From 60 to 90 days
  • Appeal: From 60 to 90 days
