Program Objective

The goal of this listing is to support agreements with organizations, institutions, or individuals throughout the world to conduct activities related to the sanitary and phytosanitary standard-setting activities of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC), including international outreach and education, in order to promote and support the development of a viable and sustainable global agricultural system; antihunger and improved international nutrition efforts; and increased quantity, quality, and availability of food.

Description

To contribute funds to organizations, institutions, or individuals throughout the world to support countries’ building capacity to engage fully and effectively in Codex and scientific advice projects related to the Codex Alimentarius Commission and their subsidiary bodies.

Use of Funds

Allowed Uses

Funds may be used to support expert participation in joint Codex Committees, consultations, and related activities, as well as to finance specific projects that provide essential advice to Codex Committees. Additionally, funds may support capacity-building initiatives to strengthen Codex Contact Points (CCPs), National Codex Committees, and Regional/Sub-Regional Coordinating Organizations. They may also be used to organize colloquia and facilitate national expert participation in Codex activities.
