Program Objective
To support and enhance research activities in prevention, screening, detection, treatment, diagnosis, and understanding of cancer with the goal of improving public health. This includes support for research resources and infrastructure including clinical trials; data repositories, knowledgebases, and analytical capabilities; career development throughout the career trajectory; and for conferences and scientific meetings. NCI also utilizes this budget category to support research activities through Other Transactions Authorities.

How to Apply
Award Procedure
All applications are evaluated by scientific authorities for scientific and technical merit. Applications must also be reviewed by the National Cancer Advisory Board. All competitive applications compete for available funds on the basis of scientific and technical merit, program relevance, and program balance, consistent with NCI and NIH priorities and strategic plans.
