Program goal(s) description: Establish or expand SANE/SAFE programs to provide trauma-informed medical forensic examinations and victim services in a variety of settings (e.g., hospital, community, campus, correctional, law enforcement-based programs).
Program objective(s) name: Support Victims of Crime
Program objective(s) description: Hire qualified SANE professionals to provide services to victims of sexual assault; Increase the availability of SANE exams for sexual assault victims including through innovative service delivery models (e.g., telehealth, mobile health units); improve coordination between law enforcement agencies, healthcare facilities, and victim advocates to provide a comprehensive response for sexual assault survivors.

Award Procedure
Upon approval by the Assistant Attorney General (for science offices, would be the Director of the applicable Office), successful applicants are notified via the JustGrants System. One copy of the grant award must be signed by the authorized official and returned to the Office of Justice Programs within 45 days of award date. Description
This program establishes or expands sexual assault examination programs, including sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE) programs and sexual assault forensic examiner (SAFE) programs, that focus on increasing the number and availability of SANEs/SAFEs, expanding access to sexual assault forensic examinations, and improving the quality of post-sexual assault care.
