Program Objective

The objective is the expansion of the National Computer Forensics Institute's (NCFI) current facility at Hoover, Alabama. This grant is for the creation of three 35-person classrooms, a 250-person auditorium, and 20 administrative offices for additional staffing.

Applicants must have legal authority to modify NCFI's existing facility at the Public Safety Center in Hoover, Alabama.

Description

The purpose of this grant program is to fund the expansion of the National Computer Forensics Institute’s (NCFI) current facility at Hoover, Alabama. The facility expansion enables the NCFI to grow its mission to educate, train, and equip State, local, territorial, and Tribal law enforcement officers, prosecutors, and judges regarding the investigation and prevention of cybersecurity incidents, electronic crimes, and related cybersecurity threats pursuant to 6 U.S.C., Sub-Section 383.

Use of Funds

Allowed Uses

Funds may only be expended to the existing National Computer Forensics Institute facility currently used by the United States Secret Service. Additionally, no more than 5% of funds may be expended for administrative costs of the Department of Homeland Security.
