Program Objective

To provide financial support to statewide organizations that conduct parent education and family engagement programs or provide technical assistance to State and local educational agencies to support family-school partnerships.

Award Procedure

Awards are competitively selected following review by nonfederal experts in accordance with Subpart D of Part 75 of the Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR).

Use of Funds

Allowed Uses

Funds may be used to provide technical assistance and training to State and local educational agencies and to conduct parent education and family engagement programs. Competitions are announced in the Federal Register. Specific limitations and restrictions for each competition are provided in the Federal Register notice.

Matching Requirements

For each year after the first year of assistance, grantees must provide a portion of services through non-Federal contributions, which may be cash or in-kind.
