A Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) is the official document a federal agency publishes to announce that grant money is available. It spells out who can apply, how much funding there is, what the program wants to achieve, the deadline, and exactly how to submit. It is the single most important document to read before applying — sometimes also called a FOA, RFA or solicitation.
