Can you apply?
This grant is for state, local, tribal, and territorial governments rebuilding after a presidentially declared disaster. Applicants can seek funding to reduce future disaster losses through mitigation projects. Individual homeowners and businesses cannot apply directly, but a local community may apply on behalf of a primary dwelling. Geographic scope is national, available in any jurisdiction affected by a federally declared disaster.
Program description
FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Grant Program provides funding to state, local, tribal and territorial governments so they can rebuild in a way that reduces, or mitigates, future disaster losses in their communities. This grant funding is available after a presidentially declared disaster. In this program, homeowners and businesses cannot apply for a grant. However a local community may apply for funding on a primary dwellings behalf.
